Steven Knee is a Filmmaker whose background is a fusion of talents specially suited to creating music videos. |
As a musician, he's recorded for Epic, Electra,
and Jeff Barry's Steed Records. An accomplished artist with a degree in
Graphic Design, he was employed as a Designer and Art Director by several
New York art studios and advertising agencies. As a Concert Producer, he
promoted shows at clubs like Max's Kansas City, later opening a theater
to present concerts featuring Pat Metheny, Gato Barbieri, Peter Tosh,
Sea Level, and Spyro Gyra.
Steven has acquired experience working as Producer, Location Manager, and Set Photographer and Videographer.
Hired by top gun directors like Bob Giraldi,
Steve Horn, Jeff Lovinger, Vaughan & Anthea, Peter Nydrle, Joe Pytka,
Mark Seliger, and Ridley Scott, he's produced Commercials, Films,
and TV Shows including Saturday Night Live, The Mike Hammer Show, Desperately
Seeking Susan, Eat A Bowl Of Tea, Candy Mountain, and promos for Jurassic
Park, Bram Stoker's Dracula, Addams Family Values, and Wayne's
World. Music Videos with companies like MTV, Picture Music International,
Chelsea Pictures, and Satellite Films, were shot for such acts as Duran
Duran, Stray Cats, Robert Palmer, Tom Petty, Phil Collins, G.E. Smith, Talking
Heads, Madonna, Mary J. Blige, Vanessa Williams and The The.
Steven has produced, directed, and edited many independent productions, and his past works have created associations with clients and friends like Lou Reed, David Johanssen, Debbie Harry, John Oates, Aerosmith, Genya Ravan,
Peter Frampton and David Byrne.
